    5.7x28 sizing.

I use hornady dies and lanolin lube.
When I size my brass, I peel a little of the lacquer off. is their a trick to prevent this?

    Thanks

Following. I’d love to learn some tricks on reloading 5.7x28. Might give me more reason to buy an FN 5.7

The trick.....sell your stuff off and buy a .22 TCM LOL. Just kidding. This was one of the reasons I stepped away from getting one. Like FN products, but the coating stuff made me wary.

What is the reason for the coating anyway? To help reliably feed the ammo? What happens when it all wears away?

The coating helps feeding and it slows the ejection process to achieve optimum powder burn.

Once gone you replace the brass with new.

Sounds like someone should do it better without the need for any coatings. I’ll stick with standard stuff for now

Lanolin really isn't a good lube, no matter what people say. It is sticky, and is what is peeling the coating
Try some Hornady Unique lube. Problem will be solved unless the die has a burr in it

That is why I decided to go to the .22 TCM instead of the 5.7.
